Atlus announces new hardcore Wii RPG

Today Atlus, creators of multiple quirky titles, announced Baroque for the Wii (and PS2). The game is a hardcore dungeon crawler which will be released in February 2007. Look below for the beef on the game -

"Atlus U.S.A., Inc. is proud to announce Baroque, a hardcore dungeon-crawling action RPG, for the WiiTM (bet you weren’t expecting THAT) and PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system. For the Wii owner who craves a pure RPG experience but doubts one will arrive… Your game is coming. For the PS2 owner knelt before a framed photograph of their beloved system, a single lit candle illuminating tears slowly trickling down their face, betraying thoughts laden with worry that the system is near its end… Fear not - your game is coming. For anyone who loves a good action RPG, one loaded with items to find and customize, packed with tons of twisted monsters to vanquish, boasting a powerful musical score, and featuring an innovative story progression system in which death is not the end, but rather, the means by which to move the story forward… Baroque is coming. Look for it February 2008!"

ONM closing forums

Wow, it seems like all of the major Nintendo forums are closing down. Official Nintendo Magazine just announced that they are going to close their forums in January next year after being open for 2 years. Not a big lost for me, though I'm sure people who live in Europe will be distressed after having NoE close their forums and then this.

Wifi connection announced for Wii Chess

While I'm sure not many of you are looking forward to Wii Chess, it's easily assumed that some of the more casual gamers would be interested. While it has Wifi, it should also be noted that Clubhouse Games for the Nintendo DS also has wifi for Chess, among 30 or so other games. Still, it should be a decent title since Nintendo's developing it.
